Activity
Build a snow castle, sand castle, or stick fort with your child, letting them lead the design and learn through trial and error. Talk through what’s working, explore new ideas, acknowledge setbacks, and celebrate them as opportunities to redesign something different, or even better.
Can you build a structure big enough to walk inside? Or small enough that a toad can hide?
Materials
For this activity, you only need what nature provides! Sticks, branches, stones, sand, and snow all make good building materials.
Skill Building
When kids lead the way, they practice creativity, problem-solving, and resilience through hands-on exploration and imaginative play.
