Activity
Give children clipboards, paper, and crayons, then invite them to sit quietly and listen to the sounds of nature. Have them mark an “x” for where they’re sitting and add symbols or small drawings around it to show where sounds are coming from. Encourage them to create marks or symbols that represent the variety of sounds they hear—loud vs. soft or natural vs. human-made.
