Find sticks or rocks for your child to use as a “pencil” as they create shapes, patterns, designs, or letters in the mud, dirt, sand, or snow. Practice writing familiar words, like their name. Make letters, shapes, and designs out of natural materials that you find! Can you place pinecones in the shape of the first letter of your name?
Materials
For this activity, you only need what nature provides! Sticks and stones make good utensils for writing or drawing in the mud, sand, dirt, and snow.
