Activity
Simply venture outside with your baby and marvel in the wonders of the natural world around you. Talk or sing about what you see, helping them to begin to associate words with their experiences. “I hear a woodpecker ‘tap-tap-tap’ on a tree and a bird ‘tweet-tweet’ at me!” What does your baby respond to?
Enjoy this time connecting with nature and each other!
Materials
For this activity, you only need what nature provides! When you are back at home or in the classroom, can you recreate the sounds you heard with musical instruments? Can you listen to nature recordings?
