Activity
During free play or recess, set up a reading zone with blankets, seasonal nature books, local field guides, exploration tools like binoculars or magnifying glasses, paper, and writing or drawing utensils. Create an area in the classroom where children can display their nature drawings and observations.
Materials
A variety of materials will allow you to create a peaceful outdoor discovery zone. Use what you already have on hand! Some suggestions:

 - Photos of plants and animals
